Let’s Explore the World! A Global Languages Companion for Let’s Try! 1 Introduce students to the names of animals in Hindi. Students will also learn how to write in Hindi. Students discover that while they are learning English, people around the world communicate in many different languages. How to use: 1. Look at the map. The orange parts are all the parts of the world that can speak Hindi. 2. Teach and practice with students how to say hello in Hindi - namaste. Then trace and write again. 3. Look at the animals on the next page. Ask students what these are in Japanese and English - cow, tiger, elephant, monkey, rabbit. Practice the pronunciation with students for saying in Hindi. Then students trace the animal name in Hindi writing and then try to write again. If you have an ALT who can speak Hindi please let them take the T1 role. Students can color in the page too.
