Students discover that while they are learning English, people around the world communicate in many different languages. How to use: 1. Because this is the 2nd time Chinese appears there is no map of Chinese speakers and hello (ni hao). This activity is a matching activity. Students match the picture to the Chinese kanji. It should be an easy activity for students because the Japanese is the same. However, please practice the Chinese pronunciation of these characters with students. They should know that Japanese kanji came originally from China. 2. Students match the animal footprints to the animals from China. Use this as an opportunity to learn about what animals live in China. If you have an ALT who can speak Chinese please let them take the T1 role. Students can color in the page too.
